Introducing
The Crew
Pacific Cloud Seafoods is a values-based seafood company delivering sustainably caught seafood to people who believe in eating with the ecosystem.
We believe in protecting the integrity of the world's marine ecosystems and promoting healthy, ocean-dependent coastal communities. It's important that we fish with the planet, carefully harvesting what it provides when it provides it, rather than forcing the planet to meet the often-unreasonable demands of the market.
We believe that small- and medium-scale community-based fisheries bring value to marine ecosystems, coastal communities, working waterfronts, local economies, and our food systems.
We believe that food should be healthy and food systems should be fair, transparent and responsible.
You can feel good about putting our values onto your plate.
On a mission to make an impact.
Pacific Cloud Seafoods is on a mission to connect like-minded consumers with conscious, values-oriented producers. As part of the Local Catch Network, we're working to help small-scale fisheries find equitable markets for their high-quality seafood. Our ultimate goal? To be part of building a decentralized seafood supply chain that can not only withstand the downward pressure of Big Business, but that gives you healthy options, connects you to those who produce your food, and enables you to eat with the ecosystem.
Ryan Horwath
Founder
Ryan Horwath grew up in Rochester, New York, and now lives in Buffalo with his partner, Valerie, and daughter Ava. When he's not in Western New York, he's on a small boat jigging for cod and rockfish in the pristine waters off Kodiak, Alaska, Or sourcing the best east coast seafood he can find from cape cod to maine.
In October 2003, Ryan and his dad, Joe, moved to Kodiak Alaska to carry on his family's fishing tradition, taking the reins of his Uncle Steve's fishing business after a sudden accident took his life.
Valerie Millard & Ava
Founder
Valerie, also a Rochester native, hopped into the entrepreneurial world early in life, running a successful massage therapy business for over 15 years in downtown Buffalo. Her business skills have been invaluable in the development of Pacific Cloud as well as her tenacious dedication to quality, nourishing, traceable foods.
Her passion for health, family and community was heightened with the arrival of Ava, Pacific Cloud’s littlest steward! They spend their days watching what goes on their plates, enjoying the farmers market community, delighting in Buffalo's culinary scene, and hitting the playground.
Geoffrey Sierzant
Manager
Geoff is our newset member to the team. Geoff comes from the healthcare field and transitioned to Pacific Cloud after being educated on the importance of sustainably sourced seafood and spreading the message to more members of the community. Geoff loves to travel, watch the local sports teams, and bake in his free time. His favorite seafood is scallops, but after coming into the business has recently found himself hooked on rockfish burgers.
