How does home delivery work?

    When you order online, you can select 'Local Delivery' in the checkout options and we will contact you with our next delivery date.

    If you are in the city of Buffalo we can usually get to you in a day or two. For Rochester, we deliver twice a month on Thursdays.

    If our scheduled times don't work for you, contact us and we can make other arrangements.

       

      Where Do you Source your product?

        All our product is sourced from small, independent fishermen and fishing families who have a similar value set to the Local Catch Network

         

          Why is most of your product frozen?

          Simple! Sustainability, flavor, and safety.

          According to a seafood waste study by the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future, seafood waste in the US is staggering, with 40 to 47% of seafood discarded annually between 2009 - 2013. That adds to about 2.3 billion pounds every year!

          Freezing our product not only allows us to preserve a much larger part of it efficiently, it also allows us to use ocean freight as much as possible, cutting down the carbon emissions and high cost of flying.

          Our fine products remain intact from their pristine wild environments all the way to your door without sacrificing taste, as blind taste tests from Oregon State University have proven. Since fish are cold-blooded creatures, the freezing process does not alter the quality of the meat significantly.

          Finally, freezing effectively kills any pathogens or bacteria that quickly attach fresh fish. Your product is safer, more energy efficient, and just as delicious through this process.

           

          Do you carry fresh seafood?

          Our most popular fresh product are dayboat scallops from East Coast, which are trucked in within a day or two of harvest. We do our very best to pre-sell any fresh products to make sure the waste is minimized and you are guaranteed a piece as soon as they get out of the water.
